FMCSA taking comments on trucker commuting

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is accepting comments for 60 days on truck driver commuter driving. The agency is looking into what it considers excessive commutes which is defined by the FMCSA as 150 minutes or longer. The FMCSA wants to know how this might affect driver safety and fatigue. The deadline for those comments is January 26.

Comments can be sent via one of four methods:

All comments must include the agency’s name (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and docket number (FMCSA-2017-0313).
