Truckers for Troops Letters

'It really means a lot to us all'

I am a Kentucky Air National Guard member deployed with our sister unit out of St. Joseph, Mo.

We received the packages you sent the other day, and I just wanted to thank you for your generosity. It is heartwarming when we receive packages like this.

The socks and shirts will definitely be worn, and the other snacks will be devoured.

I am one of the more seasoned troops, having served during Vietnam (if you can believe someone as old as me would still be in the military). I actually turned 60 just before this deployment started, and will be retiring shortly after we return to the states.

I have vivid recollection of the way our soldiers, airmen and sailors were treated back then, so this means more to me than some of my younger counterparts. They have only seen a grateful attitude towards the military.

I have been blessed over the years to see public opinion swing full circle.

Thank you so much for thinking about us. It really means a lot to us all.

Respectfully yours,

Master Sgt. Larry Hamel

The law of unintended recipients – and the happy outcome

Greetings from Al-Udeid!

Our office just received the care package for Sgt. Adams.

He is no longer stationed here, but we took the liberty of opening the package and dispensing the contents.

Your generosity and support is greatly appreciated!

Personally, I am very thankful for the beef jerky and snack bars.  I spend a lot of my free time working out, so the extra snacks will be put to good use.

Thanks again!

Staff Sgt. Joe Unseth

‘We love and appreciate everything you sent to us’

Thank you so much for the care package that you sent to us here at Al Udeid AB, Qatar.

You sent it to Jeff Adams, but he has left already.

That's OKO – we will enjoy it for him!

If I can find a patch, coin, flag, etc., I will make sure to send it to you guys.

We do not take photos here in our work center because electronics are not allowed – BOO.

Thanks again; we love and appreciate everything you sent to us and the time involved making it happen!

‘Extremely thoughtful and very appreciated by our soldiers’

more troops

OOIDA Community,

Good evening from Kuwait.

I would like to thank you for the kindness and generosity provided by the care packages I received from your organization.

The various T-shirts, socks, snacks and hygiene supplies sent to our deployed unit were extremely thoughtful and very appreciated by our soldiers.

I have attached to this e-mail a photo of our headquarters battery personnel with the Headquarters and Headquarters Battery Guidon with hope that it may find a place on your Truckers for Troops wall and represent our appreciation for the time and resources you spent to support our Soldiers.

Thanks again for all of your support.

‘Thanks so much for keeping us in your thoughts’

Hello from sunny & hot Kuwait!

K9s feeling the love as well

leo

This is Nathan Leo and his friend Max. They recently received a Truckers for Troops care package.

Nathan writes:

“I just want to say thank you for the amazing care package you sent Max and I. We really appreciate it and will share it with some of the guys here with us.”

Truckers for Troops has created several care packages specifically for K9 units, with items included for both the dogs and their human handlers.

‘We can't express our gratitude enough’

I just wanted to let you know that everyone who was a recipient of the products in your gift box is very thankful.

The man-sized cleaning wipes and eye rinse are a blessing, especially in this sandy environment when we have dust storms, as are the bars of soap and tubes of lotion.

The bug spray also comes in handy as well.

We can't express our gratitude enough for the support you and your fellow truckers provide us with.

Your support makes our situation here more tolerable and comfortable with the well-thought-out products you provide.

We are very thankful for you gifts and support.

Truckers for Troops ‘makes me feel proud to be an American’

Hello,

My name is Brian Warner and you recently sent me a care package here in Afghanistan.

I just wanted to write and personally thank you all for the support you have shown us.

We deeply appreciate the care packages, and everything else that your group does for the troops.

I would also like to thank all of the small-business truckers who contributed to these care packages.

I think the program that you have established is quite an accomplishment and makes me feel proud to be an American.

Once again, thank you so much for the goodies and I hope you and all involved have a wonderful day!

Sincerely,

Brian Warner, USAF

‘I would like to fly a flag in honor of your program’

troops Davis

I just received the care package you sent from Truckers for Troops.

I would like to let everyone that took part in this program know that we are extremely grateful for your support of the Armed Forces.

I would like to fly a flag in honor of your program and send it to your headquarters in Grain Valley, Mo. If there is a certain day that is special to your Association, please let me know, and I will fly it on that day. It just has to be a date between now and the end of July.

Thank you again for your support, and God bless all of your members.

A special thank you to my father in-law, Dennis Harbolt, and mother, Martha Jane Harbolt, for signing me up with you guys.

Casey Davis
